Teaching Learning and Discipline Audit

17/10/2014

For the first two days of this term our school had our Teaching and Learning Audit and our Discipline Audit. Through this our school processes and teaching and student learning were examined by two auditors who, themselves, are principals in schools in other parts of the state.

The audit was very thorough looking at our improvement agenda, our behaviour management practices, the expertise of our teachers, our community partnerships and student learning outcomes.

During the two days of the audit, auditors spoke with students, staff, parents about the school and how it provides for the education of our students. The students themselves gave thoughtful and positive comments about what they are learning and about the wonderful relationships they have with their teachers. The staff spoke about the strong support they receive from fellow staff members and the excellent programs we have at our school. P&C parent reps spoke about their involvement in school committees and how the staff support them in their fundraising and events. It has been an eventful journey and one with a significant outcome.

I am pleased to tell you that our school has been recognised for the excellent work we do at DBNSS and the hard work of teachers and students. This adds strength to our school vision that we are a great place to learn. Parents and friends, you can be very proud of the place that our school holds within Education Queensland.
